2016 Boys' New York State Meet Preview

Boys Class C - Teams

Breakdown: Moreso than any other race, this team battle will be a straight up duel.  Two teams have emerged as Class C powerhouses, and they both have the resumes (past and present) to back up that status.  In 2015, only two points separated the two teams at States, for the 2nd and 3rd position.  Watkins Glen returns all 7 from that team, while Mount Academy only lost two to graduation.  This year will be no different, as each team has a strong motivation to win.  For Watkins Glen, this is the last time the State Meet will be in their home section before the venues go to a bid process, and they are primed to take a title.  They showed at their qualifier that pack running is key, and they know the course well.  Mount Academy has two Class D State Titles to their name in their first two years as a program, and has been boxed out by East Aurora ever since moving up to Class C.  With Aurora out of the picture, they're looking to step back on to the top of the podium again, and have the tools to do so.

This one could very well come down to a tie-breaker, so bust out the popcorn, and enjoy.
