The Trailer: Two ranked Class D teams leaped in among the giants in the stampede at Manhattan and requited themselves very well. Greenwich's 6th in the D race evened up its speed ratings with top ranked Maple Grove, but the Red Dragons are a little more balanced and win a virtual dual by 26-29 to stay in the top spot. Elmira-Notre Dame also performed very nicely in the Manhattan-D race to move up a few spots in the rankings. Elsewhere teams appeared to be laying back a bit after the previous weekend's big McQuaid meet, and top runners were often rested and speed rating tended to dive a bit. Two teams that certainly bucked this trend were South Lewis and Beaver River at the Rome Coughlin meet who had a great showdown that ended with South Lewis using its winning performance to move all the way up to the #3 spot.
