The Trailer: Although it did not directly affect the top four teams in this week's Class A rankings, the big action over the weekend was in the McQuaid-AAA race, where a short-handed Corning squad held off a surging Niskayuna along with Webster Thomas, West Genesee, Ithaca, and Rush-Henrietta. The biggest ground-shaking performance by a team was down at the Paul Short meet in Lehigh PA as Shenendehowa won the Brown race and powered into the 4th spot in the rankings ahead of Corning. North Rockland captured a win at Grout to move further ahead of Saratoga in the speed ratings numbers, but we're looking for more concrete evidence before we make any changes in the 2nd and 3rd spots. That piece of evidence might come from a big performance by the Red Raiders in Manhattan's Eastern States race where Fayetteville-Manlius and six other of the ranked teams from Class A will be going head to head in the biggest meet of the year.
