Notes: The winning streak continues for Danielle Orie (Nardin Academy). One week after taking the title at the East Aurora invite, the Orie Sister's run well at McQuaid. After leading the race through two miles, Danielle accelerated the pace on the transitioning field behind her. Eva Scott (Burnt Hills) had been moving up steadily throughout the race, and was now closing in on the lead, chased by more than a few. Still, it was Orie out front, pushing through the line to win the AA Seeded Race in her first season of XC ever. | |||||

Notes: If East Aurora was waiting for a singular race to step up, consider McQuaid to be it. Sure to now be in contention for that coveted top ranking in Class B, East Aurora put two athletes in the Top 5 overall. Behind them, the compression rounded out to just over a full minute, giving them the second best team average of the day. The performance would also give them the edge in the merge over Corning, who was running without their 4th girl from the week before. An impressive performance for a team who has only just stepped up from being a Class C school last year. | |||||
