Individuals: With the Affolder's moving up to the Seeded AAA race, don't think the AA race will lack quality.  Ian Russ (East Aurora) was sixth overall in the merge at Pre-States, and will be right in the mix.  Nathan Lawler (Pittsford-Mendon) is the states second best returner in 2016, and could very well showcase a breakout race  here. Patrick Dye (Jamesville-Dewitt) is having  resurgent senior season, and could notch a big win here. Paul Dellinger (Brighton) is looking to show that Lawler isn't the only Section 5 runner to look out for at the State Level.  Xavier has a strong pack of individuals who will be right in the mix.  Conor Hughes (Fordham Prep) is coming off a win from last week, and will also be involved.

Then, there are the unknowns.  Listed as seniors last year on Canadian teams, the 13-yr school system might mean some of them are back.  Millar Coveney (Churchill, ONT), Callum MacGregor (St. James, ONT), and top returner Edward Hayfron (Birchmount, ONT), are all guaranteed to make Top 15 if they return in 2016.

Teams: Just as the individual race will be heated, so will the team competition.  Burnt Hills had a huge race at Baldwinsville last weekend, taking down the NY Overall #5 hometeam.  East Aurora, Brighton and Brockport will have something to say as well, as both are within Top 5 for Class B. Pittsford-Mendon are the defending State Champs in Class B, and will need a showing here to keep up with the growing competition.  Xavier (NYC) is another team that could shock the field, as they have looked to have great potential, and took second in the race last year.
