The 2016 Glenn D. Loucks Games Preview Blowout - A Viewer's Guide

Boys Mile

Event Info: Saturday - 11:25am

State of the Action

It's no secret that people come to Loucks specifically for the boys distance events.  When you have a year like 2015, what more could you expect.  It seems the mile will benefit from some spillover from the 3200m the day before, as many of the top seeds will be doing the double.  Conor Lundy is your top seed, reigning State Champ in the event.  But it's important to look at who's not doing the double, to find the fresh legs.

You're top seed on those terms is Jake Johnson.  Johnson lives more in the 800m-Mile range than many of his competitors, and the speed could put a damper in their raceplans.  Talking about speed, Randy Niesh is one week removed from the deepest 800m in high school history, where he ran 1:51.42 to take 5th.  Your bottom four seeds below all have fresh legs to look forward to as well, so don't be surprised to see some new faces in the crowd.
