WEEKEND PREVIEW

Downstate gets going a little earlier than upstate for obvious reasons. Long Island has a few meets this weekend as the Farmingdale Invitational, Paul Limmer Invitational, and Middle Country Relays are all taking place. The Paul Limmer (pictured right) meet is named after the legendary Mepham coach who is still active in the sport with the NSSF.

New York City's state of the art facility at Icahn Stadium will host the Kings Relays. Boys and Girls HS, year in and year out one of the best teams in the country, are the hosts for this annual event. On Staten Island, theFarrell Invitational will be held at one of the better tracks in the Tri-State area, Monsignor Farrell HS.

Westchester County sees the return of the New Rochelle Invitational, for years an April staple for local teams held on their unique 350m track. The 400m hurdles is always a fun event to watch here. Rockland County will host the Pirate Relays at Pearl River HS. If you want to see one of the greatest gymnasiums in the state, check out the plaques, awards, and history located in and around Pearl River HS Gym. Wow!

Section 9 has the Panther Relays at Wallkill HS while out in the Southern Tier the Winsdor NY/PA Invitational kicks off their season.

It's still pretty chilly out there, especially upstate, so we start a little slower here in NY, but you can bet we'll be ready to go for Penn Relays in three weeks.
