With this being the first event of the weekend, especially just six days removed from an already State Record run, all eyes have to be on Sammy Watson. Watson was able to essentially time-trial a 2:48.05 on a flat track upstate, proving her race fitness is ready to shine. National Leader Kate Murphy's time may actually be in danger, as Watson is sure to put some pressure there. Sophie Cantine will be crossing the country to enter this race, and with good reason at her US #8 seed, but time will tell what the jet lag may do.
