Only time will tell how serious Sammy Watson is looking at the 600m, with a priority on the 1000m, but it doesn't mean it won't be competitive. The National Record by now-junior Kam McIntosh looks to be safe, but could Watson target that junior national record of 1:29.90 by Phyllis Francis may be in jeopardy. The biggest competition will come from Sarah Walker, who has clocked 2:03 in the 800m, but the 600m relies more heavily on the 400m speed, and the record could prove difficult as well for Walker.
