Kaitlyn Neal Breaks Section 3 Record For 3000m with NY #9 All-Time

Onondaga CC, NY - Kaitlyn Neal has been on a tear this Indoor Season, racking up major performances, while lapping the entire field in each race.  After a US #1 Mile mark that has stood since December 30th, Neal once again puts in a major performance with a 9:40.03 winning mark in the 3000m run.

The cross country star for Fayetteville-Manlius may be proving that she is an even bigger talent on the track.  Her 3000m mark is the fastest that has been run since Bella Burda went 9:33 in 2013 (not including Mary Cain's 9:02 that same year).

The mark breaks the Section 3 three record, which has stood since 1974, when Kathy Mills, another FM Alum, set it at 9:50.4.  Kathy Mills was the first female XC State Champion ever from New York, and is now married and living in Oregon with husband Mark Parker, the company chairman at Nike.

The mark currently lands at NY #9 All-Time, just behind Kim Ryan of New Paltz ('83), and also stands as a US #1, with much of the season left on the horizon.
