FULL RESULTS

North Penn has been getting good use of its winter break.

On Wednesday, the Maidens took to Ocean Breeze in Staten Island and put down the nation's second best time in the 4x800 meters. In the process, North Penn put up a PA#1 in the event by nearly 12 seconds. Not bad, considering we still haven't flipped over the calendar yet.

The 4x800 team of Ariana Gardizy, Mikaela Vlasic, Uche Nwogwugwu, and Phoebe Clowser won in 9:28.76 to romp to the win at the Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival. The next closest team, Robinsville, was over 30 seconds behind in 10:00.86.

For reference, the brilliant Central Bucks South 4x800m in 2014 ran a 9:28.05 on January 25 en route to setting both the indoor and outdoor state records in the event that year. Also, consider that North Penn was busy running some solid times in some relays on Monday at Burdette.

The North Penn DMR of Gardizy, Vlasic, Clowser, and Natalie Kwortnik was second at the meet in a 12:44.88. Olivia Dyer was second in the 2 mile in 11:43.16 and and the Maidens' shuttle relay took the win.

Cheltenham, which was at The Armory yesterday, stayed in state and competed today at Ocean Breeze.

Madison Langley-Walker, fresh off bettering her own PA#1 in the long jump, took second in the triple jump in 36-07. The Panthers' 4x400m team won in 4:00.01. North Penn was second in 4:04.97.

That rounds out a busy week of track and field action in PA. Stay tuned for a leaderboard that will certainly carry a different look moving into 2016.
