ESPN followed the 2015 graduate of Northport High School in New York this past spring through the historic Loucks Games 3200m, where he ran 8:42 for the win and led 10 boys under nine minutes, and the Brooks PR-Paralympic National Championships double weekend, where he broke the T-20 Paralympic World Record for 1500m in 3:48.85

Brannigan has autism. Though he was recruited by nearly every school in the country, he was not cleared by the NCAA Eligibility Center. Instead of competing for a university like his peers, the 19-year-old distance runner now trains with the New York Athletic Club.
