OUTLOOK: What a field we have assembled for this event. Middle College's Janice Jackson is the top entry at 8.13 but Madalayne Smith of Saratoga ran 8.18 at Brown in the prelims and could challenge as well. Muhammad ran the HH in order to be more fresh for the 4x800m, which is one of the more unusual doubles of the meet. Muhammad of course was the world 400m hurdle champion last year when she ran 57.09 and is very tough to beat. Ashley Hendrix of Uniondale is a proven winner and with a season best of 8.35, she's in the mix. Elizabeth Mott, from the hurdling powerhouse of New Rochelle (pictured), could also win. She won the Pepsi Hall of Fame Classic at The Armory over Jackson. Whitney Fountain has the best foot speed in the race and is the top entry in the 55m dash and may not ru the hurdles at all. Avery Evans is a very good hurdler with a lot of experience, though she'll need a break through performance to have a shot for the title.

 10 335 Wanetta Rodney 11 Liverpool 7.21 7.21
 11 129 Shevenna Rowe 11 Samuel Tilden 7.21 7.21

OUTLOOK: Whitney Fountain (left) is the top entry at 7.08 but this 55m dash is anyone's race. Sasha Richards from Mt. Vernon ran a lifetime best of 7.10 at her qualifier and could be the top challenger. Newcomer Klarissa Ricks from Holy Names, only a freshman, has run 7.12 and Smith from Saratoga is entered as well, but she's also running the hurdles. All told, 11 girls within .13 seconds means that there will be some surprises.

OUTLOOK: Cany anyone beat Nadonnia Rodriques? Probably not. Nadonnia (pictured) ran 38.39 and leads the nation in the 300m and 400m, where she broke the NYS Record with her 52.83 effort at The Pepsi Hall of Fame Classic. Her top challengers will be Christie Verdier of Baldwin, Ahtyana Johnson of Cardozo, and Brianna Cromartie of Aquinas. There is always a question if an athletes can run two rounds, but Nadonnia has run two rounds in the PSAL all year long, so she should be fine with it here.

OUTLOOK: The New York State record holder and current US leader Phyllis Francis (pictured) of McCauley is the heavy favorite. Francis beat Dalilah Muhammad last year to win the title as a freshman and now looks to repeat. Charlene Lipsey of Hemsptead is a very tough runner and will definately challenge for the win if Francis faulters. Meagan Gillespie of Boys and Girls has a season best time of 1:33.23 and a ton of experience. She could be the sleeper. Besides those three Pine Bush's Hennig ran her time at West Point's flat track.

OUTLOOK: Another remarkably deep field with really no clear favorite. Reese (right) is a big time miler with three Millrose Games under her belt. Miller-Bedell (left-red) ran 2:08 last spring at NON and seems to be rounding into form of late. Welch is the sophomore who has already seen her fair share of big time races, including Boston Indoor Games this year. Griebesland and Pennings come from one of the best HS distance programs of all time and Francis has been around the sport for years and runs for one of the best programs in the country. Can you pick this one? We can't.

7 205 Sam Roecker 11 Burnt Hills 4:42.17 4:42.1

OUTLOOK: Another fantastic race with no clear favorite. Caitlin Lane of Greenwich and Hannah Davidson of Saratoga have been around for so long now it's hard to imagine NYS distance without them. Lane and Davidson were teammates at both Argyle in middle school and Saratoga in HS before Lane transfered to Greenwich. Maddie Adams is having a heck of a senior year and could win this race. Sarah McCurdy has a ton of experience and is from the powershouse of Bay Shore while Jackyln Marshall (pictured) of Kings Park has the fastest seed time. Sam Roecker of Burnt Hills has proven she can beat them all, as she did at NTN Northeast. It's Long Island vs. The Capital District in this one.

OUTLOOK:Leah Buletti (pictured) is the clear favorite but the racewalk is a crazy event. There could bd DQ's or big improvements. Penfield's Olivia Lapham is the challenger and come from a school with a ton of racewalk history. Valley Stream North's Emiila Vaskyte is in the mix as well. Look for Buletti to get the early lead and fight off any challenges that come. MAry Dutkoski tends to go out hard. If she can hold it this time, she'll be right there as well.

OUTLOOK: The 3K is always a race that is hard to pick. This race is littered with Footlocker Finalista and NTN finalists. Greaney is a 3 time footlocker finalist. Gregory (pictured) and Pezzulo helped Burnt Hills finish 5th at NTN. Chapman and Richards were on the NTN Champion Fayeteville-Manlius team as Chapman finished 8th in the race. Mary Kate Champagne is a Footlocker finalist and finished 3rd at FLNE. Emily Lipari was 6th at Footlocker Nationals and ther NYS Federation XC Champion. Suejin Ahn is a seasoned track runner with Millrose experience and Menges's 10:04 is nothing to forget about. Wow. Nine girls seeded under 10:11.

OUTLOOK: Boys and Girls and Suffern should battle here. The 4x200m is the last event of the day so what other events these girls run should dictate who wins this race. Suffern seems to be pretty fresh for the 4x200 as they are not in the 4x400 and none of the team is even running another event except Clayton in the 55m dash, though the Clayton sisters are both jumping. If either team falters, look for Newburgh to have a shot at the title.

OUTLOOK: Boys and Girls will be the favorite's here but don't count out New Rochelle. NewRo kept Mott out of the 300m in hopes of challenging for the win and Rodriques will be on her 3rd race of the day for Boys and Girls. Kellenberg's hte only other team under 4:00 in this race and Pine Bush ran 4:00 at RCC's flat track, so they could be a sleeper. Would love to see Mott vs. Rodriques on the anchor, wouldn't you?

OUTLOOK: Another fantastic relay event. Cardozo is the top seed at 9:07 but the top 4 teams are all under 9:12. Suffern will be fresh except for Greaney and could be right in it. Garden City's 9:11 and Holy Name's 9:10 put them right in it as well. It could come down to who has the freshest legs on the day. Fayetteville-Manlius and Warwick are both very good and I would never count out teams with the history's they have.

(Side note: There's something wrong with a team that ran 9:10 not being in the meet. Suffern edged Bronxville at their qualifier, 9:09-9:10. Bronxville is ranked 4th in the country and isn't racing at states? Something needs to be done about that) NOTE: Ward Mellville ran 1 lap short at their qualifier do to an officials mistake.

OUTLOOK: Melissa Kurzdorfer, who holds the 7th, 8th, 9th, and now 10th grade NYS shot put records, is the heavy favorite. She is ranked 4th in the US and the defending State Champion. Vanessa Stewart, also a sophomore, had a very good 44-08.75, the 3rd best sophomore performance in state history. If Kurzdorfer faulters, she could win it.
