East Aurora Contains To Impress At ECIC Championships

East Aurora can draw many comparisons to teams of the past, and the present. One comparison they won't mind, is that to Fayetteville-Manlius. It would seem that they are the only two teams in the Northeast, who will be fighting a realistic shot of having a male and female squad in the post-season. This becomes more and more evident each week, and the ECIC Championships only solidified the idea.

The Girls of East Aurora are continuing their rate of improvement, as Sophia Tasselmeyer leads the field in 17:53.4. Fiona Danieu continued the East Aurora party going by finishing as runner up. Overall, the team would finish with 24 points in the team merge, against all Classes. Sam Peterman and Noami Wistner were not far behind

Kenny Vasbinder continues on his record season, measuring only one loss so far, a second place finish at McQuaid. At his home high school, for which he holds the impressive course record, Vasbinder again sprinted away from the field for the victory. His teammates showed strong resolve, by throwing three across line behind, at the 5-7 slots. Peter Rindfuss and Chris Nowak took their last shot at a title against Vasbinder, as they race in different divisions at Sectionals, and both are favored to win.
