1/27 - NYCHSAA Sectionals - The Armory
Led by strong hurdles and pole vaulers and their usual group of stop sprinters and middle distance runners, Fordham Prep once again won the NYCHSAA Sectional title, 72.5 to Farrell's 43. Brian McGovern (Mt. St. Michael) won the Pole Vault at 15-09, the best in the state this year. PICTURES

 

1/27 - Rockland County Championships - The Armory
Suffern girls win another title as the Clayton Sisters and Shelby Greaney lead the way. Jen Clayton 7.20 55m and 18-00.75 Long Jump. Greaney 10:09 3K and 4:44 1500m. Chris Carrington (North Rockland) doubles 2:35 1K and 4:29 1600m. Kevin Malivert and Mike Abelard of Ramapo go 1-2 in 55m, 6.45 and 6.47.

1/26 - Suburban Council Championships (Sec 2) - U. of Albany
Saratoga over Shen girls 126-81, Shen over Shaker boys 129-88. Hannah Davidson (Saratoga) over Meaghan Gregory (Burnt Hills) 4:36.60 - 4:37.55 in 1500m. Sam Roecker 9:56.86 3K, Madalayne Smith (Saratoga) 8.51 55HH, RJ Sniffen (Shaker) 4:25.49 1600m over Demetri Goutos (Saratoga Springs) 4:27.19.

1/26 - NYC Mayor's Cup Championships - The Armory
Nadonnia Rodriques (Boys and Girls) runs 1:30.83 - US#1 600m.

1/26 - Reebok Boston Indoor Games - Reggie Lewis, Boston, MA
Southern Regional, NJ star Jillian Smith runs US#1 4:48.83 to win the Jr. Mile. Mary Kate Champagne from Steon Catholic, NY finished 3rd in 4:55.57. Kyke Merber finished 3rd in the boys race in 4:12.42, the best in NY this winter, and former New Yorker Charles White was 4th in 4:13.33.

Great Neck South long sprinter Terrance Livingston won the 600m in 1:22.04. East Meadow girls win the 4x800m in 9:44.22. Newburgh, St. Anthony's, and Somers all make the trip.

Carmel's Ashley Mauere wins hte 600m in 1:36.2 as Arlington boys and girls win IC crowns. Saunders girls and Roosevelt boys win ID crowns.

Penfield's Tyler Stachecki wins the 1000m in 2:40.64. Jannie Sauter from Canandaigua win the 1500m in 5:01.

Colin Keenan (Aquinas) 6-03 High Jump, Claire Dishon (Brockport) 10-06 Pole Vault.

1/26 - Section 6 Varsity Select #2 - Lancaster, NY
Chris Buck (Frontier) 52' 0 SP, Brenna Symoniak (Amherst) 5:04.2 1500m

1/25 - Great Dane Classic - The Armory
Three Armory collegiate records were broken Friday night at the Great Dane Invitational. Men's 1,000m - 2:23.58 - Tim Kaijala - Penn; Men's Pole Vault -17-9 - Rory Quiller - Binghamton; Women's 55m HH - 7.71 Natasha Ruddock - Essex County; One other was close was Dean Juste from Albany, who ran 7.45 for 55m hurdles, close to the record of 7.43.

1/25 - MVITA Invitational - Colgate
Rome Free Academy boys 1:34.22 4x200m and their girls team ran 4:02.97 4x400m.

1/25 - Sec. 4 Age Group #4 - Cornell
Kati Holowacz (BGA) 3:03 1000m, Tara Brenner (Dryden) 10-06 Pole Vault. Dustin Ross (BGA) 36.78 300m dash.

1/25 - Section 5 Central Group - NY Chiro
