East Aurora Blue Devils

Sophia Tasselmyer tossed her mud-spattered specs midway through the Class C race and hung on to edge Albany Academy's Emily Acker, with Jordan-Elbridge's Abby Gugel in 3rd. Tasselmyer's East Aurora team was also in a close scrap, beating six-time reigning champ Bronxville by 3 points.

This Year's Outlook
The Blue Devils lost two members of last year's States champs, but there are a lot of young legs in development behind Class C's top runner Sophia Tasselmyer and her fellow senior Fiona Danieu and junior Maisy Webster. With Molly McLaughlin and Tori Klimowicz rounding out a dynamic 2015 squad, East Aurora should ride far ahead of the deep S6-C field and get set for another States classic against Bronxville and a chance for an 8th state championship.






Bronxville Broncos

This Year's Outlook
The Broncos came up 3 points short in their quest for a 7th straight States title, and the loss of States' 5th place finisher Delia Hayes will be hard to overcome. A lot of young talent is coming up behind longtime standout Kaitlin Ryan and last year's big newcomer Olivia Scotti though, and if the Broncos can find a little more depth at the back, a 13th state title could be the capper for the 2015 season.

The good news for the Tigers is that they have their entire crew back from last year including sophomore States finalist Margo Henley. The bad news is that they have to compete with East Aurora for the S6-C title and likely are battling to be the best of the runners-up in the section.

This Year's Outlook
With Greenwich back down in Class D, the S2-C title is up for grabs, and Schuylerville looks like it may have the horses to get the job done. Junior Ashley Watson continues her march toward the tops of the Class C ranks, and a junior trio behind her promises good support for the team's second sectional title in four years. As always for the Horses, a little more depth at the back would be welcome for the upcoming battle with Chatham.

This Year's Outlook
Like Akron, the other S6-C five-letter team whose name begins with an A and with similar TR scores and a sophomore frontrunner who was at States last year and also from the same county (just really Erie similarities here), Alden will in all likelihood be competing for the runner-up spot at sectionals behind East Aurora. Five of the top 6 runners are back for the Bulldogs including leader Becky Kron, so the team should likely be in a spirited fight for 2nd with Alden and Newfane.






Newfane Panthers

This Year's Outlook
Cazenovia is nicely set up in S3-C now that reigning champ Westhill has moved up to Class B. Though there will still be a tough battle with Skaneateles for the sectional crown, freshman Clara Rowles is a certified standout after her 4th place finish at States, and Meggie Hart may see a giant boost in her TR ratings based on her track times. With enough depth to shore up the back positions, the Lakers from Caz should have enough to beat out the Lakers from Skaneateles.
