More than likely the most exciting race on the boys side of the competition, the top seeds knew what was at Stake. With the entirety of the Loucks Sub-9 field not contesting the event at States, the winner of this race would be the defacto favorite for the 3200m title next weekend. At Oneida, Noah Affolder sat on senior Bryce Millar before kicking past with 100m to go. This time, Millar turned up the intensity further out, but left room for a fast kicking Ben Petrella. In the end, it turned into almost a blanket finish, with Millar getting the edge, and Affolder outleaning Petrella. Look for Affolder to put more pressure on Millar next week, as both will be fresh for the 3200m, both looking to go Sub-9.
