State of the Action: Leon Atkins returned to the start after his 51.19 400m win, and Evan Degraw came back for his second 800m of the day after his 2:03 in the 4x800m. Degraw had never broken 2:00, after coming a few seconds short in the relay, was clearly determined not to let it happen again. The rest of the field were unable to stay in touch with Atkins and Degraw. Degraw had more left in the tank in the end. Finally breaking the 2:00 barrier in 1:59.01 | |||||

State of the Action: This race was a showdown between two indoor state competitors, Tim Chappell (3200m) and Matt Gill (1600m). Gill stuck on Chappell's heels for much of the race, but when Chappell began increasing the pace, Gill was unable to go with him. Chappell gradually extended his lead to finish in a season best mark of 9:46.70, and Gill managed to hang on and finish under 10 for the first time this season. | |||||
