Millrose Blowout! Gavigan Sets State Record, Alcorta Cruises, Cain Controls

Boys Millrose Mile
State of the Action:  We knew Luke Gavigan was a threat to win the title coming into the racre, but we never knew the win would be this dominating.  The Junior from Tappan Zee took off with two laps to go, carrying the rest of the field to impressive marks in their own right,  Your new NY #3 All-Time, behind only Alex Hatz and John Trautmann.   Safe to say, that is also US #1 for 2014.  Oh, and if that wasn't enough, Gavigan also just so happened to set the New York State Class Record in the process, erasing Kevin Tschirhart of Northport's record from 2004.  You can check out the full list of Class Records Here, for free in our archives

Women's Wannamake Mile
State of the Action:  Mary Cain had nothing but control over this race.  She alone decided to let it go out slow, allowing the rabbit to surge ahead.  The other professionals in the race should know better by now not to let it go to the kick, as Cain crushed a thirty second last lap to win.  In the pack behind her, Alexa Efraimson went US #2 All-Time for HS'ers, doing quite well herself.
