Maryland @ Hispanic Games: Javonne Antoine 40+ TJ, Toni Brown 56.70 400/24.94 200, Garrett 6.45 55m

Several Maryland teams were able to travel north up I-95 and compete at the Hispanic Games on Saturday at the Armory in New York City.

Elizabeth Seton's Javonne Antoine continued her tear this winter as one of the nation's top performers in the triple jump as she extended her season best and US #2 mark in the triple jump to 40'0.75". The senior Antoine also placed second in the long jump with a leap of 17'6". Millford Mill Academy's Toni Brown impressed in the sprints winning the 400 meter dash with a US #3 clocking of 56.70 followed by a PR performance in the 200 meter dash with her third place effort of 24.94 ranking her US #5 in the event.

Henry A. Wise senior Brenen Garrett bested some of the top sprinters from NY/NJ with his US #10 victory of 6.45 in the 55 meter dash finals. Garrett also ran a season best time of 22.59 in the 200 meter dash prelims. Garrett also ran a leg on the Wise 4x200 meter relay, which posted a swift time of 1:32.01 in New York. Meanwhile, the Bowie boys ran the fastest 4x400 meter relay time in the state of Maryland with a US #13  3:27.01 performance at the Armory.
