Both will be scoring the ever-important team points, and the thought of garnering the coveted "1 point" could propel Lembo and Avery to season best marks. Team Champs
Does this sound familiar? Fayetteville-Manlius enters as the odds on favorite to the state meet, with a national ranking of #1. Not only that, but their squad contains only one senior, meaning we'll see the majority of these girls next year. But with the focus ever on the present, the Hornets will be running against Saratoga, who have the home field advantage. At this level, getting to sleep in your own bed is a big plus, as well as the course being condusive to the type of courses 'Toga is accustomed to running (SPAC). Webster Thomas also poses a threat after an exception Sectionals performance.

Breakdown
Jess Lawson may very well be the fastest girl in the state, and enters as the overwhelming favorite. She will be facing off some quality opposition, including Section 6 standouts McLaughlin and Tasselmyer. Jaskot and Hayes bring the Section 1 standout status with them as well, and the two pairs could be exchanging positions throughout the race.
Team Champs
The individual race between McLaughlin and Hayes may have bigger repercussions on the team front. The two teams represented by these frontrunners come into the race as almost a toss-up. The answer may come down to course conditions, which seems to be cold and wet.

This race may turn out more even than it looks on paper. Hurta and Piertocarlo are both looking to repeat: Hurta as an individual, and Pietrocarlo as a representative of her team champions. That motivation will push both girls to their limits, which have been shown to be quite evenly matched.
Team Champs
This will be close. Too hard to pick right now, you have Tully on one hand, who have been consistently good all year. On the other, you have Maple Grove, who look to be perfectly peaked for States. Every point matters here.
