Fredonia, NY - Section 6 was in the spotlight way back when in Cross Country. It was the home to the state meet for 2012, and every team in New York State ran with the destination in mind. Now, with XC over, and results hard to come by in the Western-most Section of the Empire State, athlete's may have fallen off the radar. But don't be fooled, as the "sixers" now hold a total of four state leading marks, as well as several who can threaten for a medal at the upcoming state meet. Check them out below, and watch out for them at Cornell.

McKayla Brooks of Frontier is your state leader in both Long and Triple Jump, and puts the State Sophomore Records in serious jeopardy.
Devon Patterson of Williamsville South tossed 60-4.75 to take the state lead.
TJ Hornberger of Lake Shore still retains NY #10 in the mile, after competing in the event back in December.
Lauren Sullivan of Lancaster is NY #6 in the 55m dash, behind Brooks at #5, running 7.23, and NY #2 Ashley Grazen with 7.16
Marissa Saenger of Clarence, a Foot Locker Finalist, has held onto her NY #4 in the 3000m from December as well.
Lockport's Alex Reid stands as NY #6 in the Long Jump, hitting 22-4.75
Look out for Williamsville North's Lauren Hudson, who is NY #2 in the HJ, clearing 5-7.
And most dangerous of all is Lancaster's Jen Thill, who leads the state in Pole Vault. Here she is making a good attempt at 12-6, after clearing 12-4.
Special thanks to Bill Wende, who provided a majority of the pictures used, and for keeping the sport alive in Section 6.
