The Armory College Preparation Program

The Armory College Preparation Program is an educational initiative administered by The Armory Foundation to help our high school students prepare for and obtain admission to college. Nearly 2,000 high school student-athletes use The Armory to train for track and field competitions each year. Most of these student-athletes are from New York City Public Schools, where graduation and college admission rates are low.

Deepest thanks go to our supporters of this program The Carnegie Corporation, ConEdisonNew Balance, and the New York Community Trust suggested by Karin and David Kuhns. Their generous financial contributions made this program possible.

The mission of The Armory College Preparation Program is to increase the college enrollment for these students.

This program is a purely educational initiative. Many student-athletes who use The Armory as an athletic training center are very excited to have an opportunity to train at such a state-of-the-art facility as The Armory Track & Field Center. The goal is to create more focus and awareness among these student-athletes surrounding their academic endeavors and college ambitions.
