Hempstead’s Lipsey outkicks Brianna Welch of North Shore By Christopher Hunt     Charlene Lipsey isn’t seasoned enough to walk into the 800 meters with an intricate gameplan. She didn’t enter the invitational 800 meters with splits in her head, knowing how fast she wanted to run each lap. The Hempstead junior didn’t map out any surges and certainly didn’t have a finishing time in mind.FULL STORY HERE photo by wingedfootfotos.com

Warwick Valley Boys Win DMR Still rounding into form, Warwick runs 10:24.05 By Christopher Hunt Warwick Valley’s Ryan Florkiewicz knew to keep things in perspective. This was good, for now. They still had cross country legs, he said. They are still trying to remind their bodies of what indoor track feels like. But if they felt that way, his team sure didn’t show it. Mike Fox (3:09.4), Karl Schnabl (51.7), Florkiewicz (2:02.2) and Brad Ackerman (4:20.6) won the championship distance medley relay in 10:24.05 at the Marine Corps Holiday Classic. Atlee vault duo wins relay scored event at NY Armory Dec 27, 2007

Photo by wingedfootphotos.comAtlee's pole vault girls in Emma Dejarnette and Rachael Hawks ventured north for their first New York Armory experience at the Marine Corps Holiday Classic in New York. The meet is scored combining the top two finishers from a team in each event. It was no suprise after Dejarnette and Hawks both cleared over 11 feet in the same meet earlier this month at CNU (which was a first in VA state history) that they would easily win such a meet format. Dejarnette cleared 11 feet to finish second individually, while Hawks took third at a 10'6" clearance to give the Atlee girls a combined height of 21'6".  Video of the Atlee pole vault girls competing at the Armory (courtesey of MileSplit US affilliate site ArmoryTrack.com)
