The HS miles and the Chsaa relays were the highlights of the US open meet. Samantha Nadel had the performance of the night(in my opinion). Sam ran a 4:47 on what seemed to be a slower than usual 11 lap garden track. She is really on a roll this indoor season. With a 4:46 mile a 9:31 3000m and some monster relay splits on top of this race, she is running with a lot confidence. Georgetown is gettin a good one! I am eagerly anticipating the Millrose match up of Samantha and Mary Cain plus a loaded field. Emily Liparis 4:42 state record could go down this night. Also want to mention the girls 4x4. Olicia Williams of St. Anthonys ran a terrific anchor leg but just ran out of track as St. John Villa hung on for the W. On the boys side Zavon Watkins used his 1:49 800 speed to win a tactical mile and Kellenbergs anchor Murphy really brought the crowd to it's feet with a dazzling final lap in the Chsaa 4x8. Without the kids this would not have been much of a track meet.
