Rankings Compiled By Aron Taylor

Class A - Five-time defending NYSPHSAA Class A Team Champions, US#1 Fayetteville Manlius have not been challenged in half a decade. Two years in a row they have perfect scored runner-up and NY#2 Saratoga Springs. The impact of such an accomplishment is only fully realized by the fact Saratoga Springs was also the #2 team in the nation. When will the F-M Dynasty end? Not anytime soon. The top two teams in the nation again square off for the state title...perhaps the state association should rename the Class A, "The New York National Championship".

Class B - After finishing 3rd in the Class B Championship in 2008 and 2009, US#5 North Shore moved up to Class A. With the new realignment, they are back in the B Division. Last season, North Shore topped Canandaigua and Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. This season, US#44 Canandaigua jumps to Class A. North Shore returns almost the entire varsity from last year's state championship team. US#23 Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake would like to regain the form that won them the 2008 State Title. Thrown into the mix will be the previously 6-time defending Class C State Champion East Aurora. Facing some heat this season, the 7-in-a-row title hunt should be more challenging for East Aurora. Pearl River won the Manhattan Invitational "D" Division Championship, and have blown out all other races this season. While they haven't squared off against the top teams, they are still winning in outstanding form. North Shore is the team to beat.

Class C - Last season, Greenwich and Bronxville finished 1-2 at states, 48-51, in the most tightly contested championship. The two teams have accounted for the past 7-state championships. US#30 Bronxville, the 3-time defending state champions, are seeking 4-in-a-row.  They've won convincingly in the Manhattan Invitational "E" Division Championship. Mary Cain and Meredith Rizzo have made an awesome pair.  US#25 Greenwich won the state title in '06 and '07, and this season won the New Balance Ocean State Invitational and Varsity Race "5" of the V-V-S Invitational. The teams are on a collision course for the state final.
