10/8 Weekend Preview: Manhattan and NEICAAA

It's a quite weekend for high school cross country in Massachusetts, but the collegiate ranks will take-over Franklin Park and plenty of former prep stars will be on display at the NEICAAA Championships.

Several teams decided to split their squads or were not at full strength because of the SAT tests last weekend at the Bay State Invitational.  As a result, many have decided to head to New York this weekend to compete in the Reebok Manhattan Invitational.  This massive invitational will have over 250 teams spread across eight different divisions. The featured event is the Eastern States Championship races, and although no Massachusetts teams will represent the state in the championship races, they will defenitely be worth watching.  US#2 CBA, US#4 Fayetteville Manlius, US#16 Shaker, and US#24 Rush Henrietta will all square-off in the Championship Boys race.  US#1 Fayetteville Manlius, US#5 Tatnall, and US#7 North Shore will to battle in the Championship Girls race.  And, as always, any time Edward Cheserek is on a race course you have to assume that a course record is in jeopardy.

Below you will find race informatin for the Massachusetts teams competing in the Manhattan Invitational, and the press releases for the teams competing in the NEICAAA Championships.
