COMPLETE RESULTS

New York, NY - Junior Sheena Taylor (Twinsburg, OH / Detriot Mercy) captured the only top honor for the Seahawks in the weight throw event as junior Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA / St. Joe's Prep) ran a personal-best time in the 3000 meter run for second place at the Metropolitan Coaches Collegiate Invitational.

Taylor, who broke the school record in the weight throw during her last performance of 2010, registered a toss of 17.43m, a mark that secured first place over Monmouth's Symmone Fisher. Iannacone's previous personal-best time also set in the final meet of 2010 was broken with a recorded time of 8:41.36.

“We were very pleased with the performances from these two talented juniors and the improvements made by the entire team. We hope to see this trend continue throughout the remainder of the 2011 season,” said Head Coach Joe Stasi.

On the track, Wagner had impressive performances from freshman Alexis Bivona (Staten Island, NY / St. John Villa) and freshman Fred Locklary. Bivona's performance in the 1 mile run with time of 5:20.61 and sixth place finish placed her at the top of NEC finishers in the event. Locklary finished in 14th place out of 37 runners in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.72.

In the field, senior Mishelle McNamara (West Covina, CA / Covina) tied Manhattan's Sarah Moore for second place in the pole vault by clearing a recorded height of 3.15 meters.

Wagner's Track and Field teams return to competition on Friday, January 14th at the NYC Gotham Cup.
