Randall's Island, NY – Senior
Brecken Drager (Loomis, CA/Del Oro) added another first place finish to her season accomplishments at the 2010 NYC Qualifying Challenge held at Icahn Stadium this weekend. Drager out paced 17 other athletes in the 1500-meter run with a first place time of 4:43.88.
The time is Drager's second-fastest mark of the season – she had previously run the event in 4:40.00 at the University of Virginia on April 10th.
Also competing in her last collegiate meet was senior
Amanda Gland (Woodbury, CT/Nonnewaug), who finished with a personal-best mark in the Long Jump. Gland leaped 5.60-meters to place seventh out of 16 athletes.
Sophomore
Sheena Taylor (Twinsburg, OH/Detroit Mercy) added a second place finish in the Shot Put. She registered a 12.19-meter mark.
The event concludes the regular season for the women. Drager will compete next week at the ECAC Spring Championships in the 5000-meter event. She qualified for the event with a 17:05.20 finish at the Princeton Invitational on April 3rd.
