NCAA INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP HEADQUARTERS
Staten Island, NY – Sophomore
Sheena Taylor (Twinsburg, OH/Detroit Mercy) and the Men's Distance Medley Relay team will represent Wagner College at the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championship this weekend in Boston, MA.
Taylor qualified for the event with a 16.64-meter mark in the Weight Throw on February 5th at the New Balance Invitational. Her second best mark of 16.31-meters at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Winter Championship also surpassed the ECAC qualifying standards for the event. Taylor's Weight Throw distance has improved every week since January 8th.

Derek Schultz (Ocean Port, NJ/Shore Regional), and sophomore
Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA/St. Joe's Prep) qualified for the event with a record breaking Distance Medley Relay time of 10:13.64 on February 5th at the New Balance Invitational. The time was nearly seven seconds better than the previous mark of 10:20.09 set 29 years ago.
To provisionally qualify for the 2010 NCAA Winter Championship at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Taylor will have to register an 18.75-meter distance. To automatically qualify she needs a 21.00-meter distance. The men's team will need a time of 9:44.4 to provisionally qualify and 9:32.7 to automatically qualify.
