New York, NY – Senior
James Johnston (Middle Island, NY/Longwood) destroyed Wagner's all-time Indoor Track and Field mark in the 1 Mile Run on Friday at the NYU Fast Track Invitational held at the Armory. He finished in 4:19.51 - nearly two seconds better than alumni Jorge Hernandez's 1983 record breaking time of 4:21.03. Johnston finished in 16th place out of 41 athletes.
Senior
Kevin Kearney (Haddonfield, NJ/St. Joe's Prep) registered his second-best finish of the season in the 800 meter dash. He finished in 1:57.81 for 22nd place out of 52 athletes. Not far behind was teammate junior
Brian Doxey (West Islip, NY/West Islip), who placed 29th at 1:59.55. For Doxey, the time is his personal best this season.
The Distance Medley Relay team remains the lone representative of the Wagner men at the IC4A Championships on March 6th. Johnston (Middle Island, NY/Longwood), junior
