Full Results | Saturday's Recap | BIG EAST Championship Central

NEW YORK - Freshman Lindsey Lamar and sophomore Reshaw Exilien along with the men's 4x400 relay each earned All-BIG EAST honors as the Bulls finished a successful second day of competition at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships Sunday at The New Balance Track & Field Center at The Armory in New York.

Exilien, freshman Pascal Orelus, senior Mikail Ebanks and sophomore David Aristil were named All-BIG EAST as the foursome placed third overall in the 4x400 on the heels of a time of 3:13.30 behind Seton Hall and Rutgers.

Lamar and Exilien finished third in the 60 meters and the 400 meters, respectively, to highlight one of USF's best ever team finishes. The Bulls ended the day ranked eighth with 54 points, ahead of last year's 10th-place finish in which the Bulls had 19 points. Notre Dame captured the team title with 146.5 points.

Lamar ran a time of 6.80 in the 60 meters, just slightly ahead of teammate Derrick Hopkins, who finished fourth with the same time of 6.80 but came in a split second behind Lamar in the finals. Michael LeBlanc of Syracuse and Kenny Mitchell of Georgetown went 1-2 in 6.72 and 6.77, respectively.

Exilien owned a time of 48.75 in the finals of the 400, putting him at third behind Christopher Cox of Seton Hall (47.47) and Austin Perron of Georgetown (48.58). All top-3 finishers in each event at the Championships automatically earn All-BIG EAST honors.

The women, meanwhile, finished half a point short of their best indoor finish in five years in the BIG EASTS, as the Bulls completed competition 10th with 34.5 points, just behind their 2008 finish when the team took 10th overall with 35 points. The Villanova women took home the team title with 115 points.

The Bulls continued to go strong in the sprints, as seniors Josh Wimbley and Greg Fontus went 5-6 in the 200 after both posted a time of 21.91, with Wimbley also finishing just a split second ahead of Fontus.

Senior Armante Marshall posted a time of 6.93 in the finals of the 60 meters as he came in seventh.

A pair of triple jumpers scored points in the finals Sunday for the women, as senior Samantha Shade, who ranks second all time in the event at USF, improved her personal best by leaping 39-8 to take fourth. She was followed by freshman Monique Williams, whose mark of 38-9.5 put her one spot behind Shade in fifth.

After running an 8.04 yesterday, sophomore David Aristil came out and posted a time of 8.05 in the 60 meter hurdles as he claimed fifth in the finals.

In the high jump, senior Michael Kursteiner surpassed his season best by leaping 6-9, good enough to put him just outside All-BIG EAST qualification in fourth.

Sophomore Shaniel Chambers earned the Bulls several team points as she took sixth in the 500 meters in 1:13.54.

Freshman Courtney Anderson equaled her seed coming into the meet by jumping 5-7 in the high jump, putting her into a tie for eighth.

Sophomore Allie Prendergast continued to improve as the season has worn on in the 3,000 meters, as she again posted a new personal best in 9:44.63 to earn herself a 12th-place finish. Classmate Yasmin Smith, running in the finals of the mile, placed 10th in the event after running a 5:03.06.

Freshman Tralanda Todd and junior MaShonda Rayner finished ninth and 12th in the triple jump with leaps of 37-1.25 and 36-1.5, respectively. On the men's side, junior Antillio Bastian finished 11th with a jump of 47-10.5.

Sophomore Atasha Warren placed 13th in the shot put with a heave of 43.5.25.

The quartet of Chambers, freshman Rebecca James, junior Rachel Etienne and senior Kayla Richmond put the women's 4x400 relay into 11th place in 3:50.91.

USF will begin the outdoor portion of its season in two weeks as the Bulls host the USF Open March 5 at the USF Track and Field Stadium.
