This year's running brings together veterans of the Garden as well as some newcomers. Cory McGee, Pass Christian MS, is in her 3rd year of this great race. She was 2nd in 2007 behind Danielle Tauro, 2nd in 2008 behind Jillian Smith, and 2nd in 2009, also behind Smith. This is McGee's last shot at a Millrose mile victory but she will be challenged in her attempt. Emily Lipari, Roslyn NY, has had experience on this track and has gotten herself into phenomenal shape after an XC season cut short by injury. They will both be challenged by Aisling Cuffe, Cornwall NY, a newcomer to the race, who has shown that she will be ready to race. Cuffe has run 4:38.06 for 1500 meters.
The girls Metro 4x800 meter relay features Bronxville NY, US#2 ranked with an impressive 9:14.43 this season. North Shore NY, a team with a 9:21.30 to their credit this season, is ranked US#5. Northport NY is also in the top-10 with a US#9 time of 9:24.51.
