HAMILTON, N.Y. (11/2/09) – Colgate University sophomore Elise DeRoo was named the Patriot League Female Runner of the Year following her first-place performance at the Patriot League Championship.

DeRoo brought home the individual title with a personal-best and school-record time of 22:01.7, to claim her third individual title of the season. DeRoo is Colgate's third Patriot League champion in cross country and the first since Stacey Marion in 2007.

DeRoo also earned all-Patriot League first team recognition and was joined by junior Julie Tarallo who earned second team honors.

Colgate hits the course again when it travels to Boston for the NCAA Regional Qualifier on Nov. 14. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m.
