CIAC State Open Recap

Boys Hurdles

HK's Eamon Sweeney had a busy day as he took his top time in the 110H prelims and pushed on to win in finals by .02 over Stonington's Joshua Mooney. Sweeney took 3rd in the 300H and Mooney was 5th, but both guys were also over at the javelin where Mooney had the better toss for a 4th place finish while Sweeney was 7th. Matthew Gibbs had just the 5th best seed time in the 300H after a 2nd at the Class L meet, but the Hillhouse junior won big at the Open with a giant PR, and he also picked up a 5th in the 110H. Top seeded Joshua Clarke of Windsor was 2nd in the 300H.
