At 2013 States, Emily Astarita put an exclamation point on a Beastly performance by running a 2:24.60 in the 800m to finish 1st to go along with the top place in both the shot put and long jump as she showed an amazing range. 2nd place that year was Shayla Broughton of Medgar Evers who was coming off a then freshman state record in the pentathlon at the PSAL championship. | ||||
