Tale of the Beast

We needed a stand-in from an earlier era here. Nine of the ten States high jump champs in the 2010s won by an inch, and one title was decided by fewest misses. We had to go all the way back to 2004 to find a champ who won by more than inch. Lauren Biscardi captured six States HJ championships, and she won two indoor national championships in 2004 on the same weekend as she bounced between the Nike Indoor Nationals in Landover MD and the National Scholastic Indoor Championship at the Armory, so she qualifies big time as a Beastly dominator. She jumped a lofty 5-10 in 2004 at States for the 2-inch win.
