As in the 4x200m relay, Glastonbury was trailing going into the final leg of the 4x400m, maybe 20 meters back of Weston and in 3rd place. But with Samantha Forrest on the anchor, no lead seemed to be safe at the Open, except for Nyia White's in the 300m individual race. Forrest took control of the race coming off of the final turn and Glastonbury powered to the win in 4:01.36 with Weston about a second behind in 2nd and Ridgefield in 3rd. The first section winner Plainfield knocked more than 12 seconds off its seed time to take a surprise 4th, and Windsor and Bloomfield finished 5th and 6th from the seeded section.
