Boys Sprints and Hurdles

100m

Meet Record: 10.4     Last Year's Winner:  Richmond Kwaateng (Lowell) 10.70

Last year's winner Richmond Kwaateng is opting just for the long jump, where he is the decided favorite. Headlining the 100m action this year are three seniors who have all made big jumps above their marks in last year's meet. Acton-Boxborough's Noah Sweeney may have the edge at 10.62 from the MIAA E Div. 1 race, but Woburn's Marcus Qualls was at 10.65 for Div. 2 and Lowell's Andrew Bonsu was close behind Sweeney at 10.69. Two other guys with marks below 10.80 are Bryan Santos of Shepherd Hill with a 10.72 from a 2nd place at Loucks, and Jerimil German of Lawrence who was 3rd at 10.76 behind Sweeney and Bonsu.

The rigors of the MIAA competition cleared out some of the top competitors in the high hurdles competition, and we are down to four guys with times of 14.50 or better. David Peters was 7th in 2018 as a Stoughton sophomore, but this year he has a decided advantage with a 14.16 time at MIAA E Div. 3. Anthony Caggianelli of Central Catholic won MIAA E Div. 2, but his best time comes from Merrimack at 14.30. Caggianelli's teammate Demetri Morris is a little further back at 14.41, and Ryan Eng of Medfield is at 14.50.
