New York Girls State Rankings - Week 2

Following Week of Saturday, September 22

Week 2 rankings follow a Saturday that featured Katelyn Tuohy's explosive start to her all-out efforts in the fall of 2018, and many teams began their unveiling of the varsity squad that they will ride to this season's glory days.

The Ocean State meet in Rhode Island where Tuohy again vandalized the course records not only saw her North Rockland team win the Championship race but also saw a group of Witches from Greenwich brew up an insanely evil 29 score in Race 1 while Shaker was rattling off a close win in Race 2. Niskayuna went up against some of the best teams in the Northeast region at Bowdoin and came away with the top result, as Sacred Heart ran not far behind. Kellenberg and Notre Dame had great wins at Xavier, and Pearl River and Cornwall won big at the Bob Pratt meet at Sunken Meadow.

Out to the west at Baldwinsville it was Cicero-North Syracuse and CBA Syracuse prevailing in the Large and Small races, while at East Aurora the host team took the Large race with only 26 points and Silver Creek was the victor in the Small race.

The west will be highly featured this weekend as the giant McQuaid meet in Rochester sets up the bragging rights for all of the classes. But there will also be big meets at EJ Herrmann and NYC Mayor's Cup among many in-state meets, and the Carlisle, Paul Short, and Six Flags Wild Safari will be held out of state. More greatness to come.
