Five Track Greats To Be Inducted into VHSL's HOF!

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The VHSL has announced their 2018 Half of Fame inductees and to put it lightly, this is a huge year for track & field. The 28th class includes four track athletes and one coach. Also included are two other individuals who were partially involved in track as well.

The four athletes getting inducted this year are Sharon Couch (Louisa), Francena McCorory (Bethel), Sheena Johnson (Gar Field), and Meghan McCarthy (James Robinson).

The coach getting inducted is Jerome Loy of Jefferson Forest. Though he is retired now after 31 years of coaching he is still very active in the sport and of course still changing many lives for the better.

The other two individuals are Jean Gillespie (Northwood Coach) and Charles Stukes (Crestwood High).

If you include those individuals in your count then that brings track's share of this class to a staggering 70% (7/10) and 80% (4/5) of the athletes inducted.
