You've got three main contenders here, who have all been under 49-seconds. Arguably, all three have gone faster on relays, as that's where they shine, but they are ready to go head-to-head at Ocean Breeze. Eric Allen (Bullis, MD) is MileSplit50 #4, and leads the field with his 48.83 Indoors, as well as a 33.49 in the 300m. Chris Borzor (Uniondale) has hit 48.51 outdoors, while Armonte Paulk (Hill-Freeman World Academy, PA) has gone 48.13.
Expect those three names to be in the forefront, as they lead the field by two seconds. They'll all be on their second or third event, so it could be a battle of attrition here in the long sprint.
