Manlius Grabs 3 Of 4 Titles, Katelyn Tuohy Continues Record Season - NXN-NY Recap

Girls Individual

It was continued success for Katelyn Tuohy, although she was visibly slowing herself down through parts of the race.  Finding a balance between conserving energy for next week, and the adrenaline of a top-tier race, Tuohy went out hard to establish herself, then let off the gas towards the finishing stages of the race. The effort still brought her one of the fastest times ever on Bowdoin Park, and showing that the 16:52 from Feds could have been much, much lower.  She heads into next week as a strong contender.

Behind her, freshman Brooke Rauber will make her first trip out west, managing to outduel her in-section rivals.  The next four across were all from Manlius, solidifying their team slot.  Next, Jenna Schulz and Hannah Reale were battling for team points of their own, giving themselves the insurance of an individual slot in the process.  Mary Hennelly continued her comeback season success, and Sydney Nowicki upset the seeds to sneak in as the fifth qualifier.
