Girls Varsity
The girls Varsity Races were full of fresh faces from New York. In Varsity 1, 8th Grade first year runner Kayla Schramm (Goshen) has been rapidly improving, after dominating Frosh races at Warwick and Suffern earlier this year. She has now jumped up to the Varsity distance, and is proving more than capable with another win here. She is helped coached by Rich Furst, who propelled underclassmen Megan Reilly to a State Title while at Warwick.
In Varsity 2, we saw another face emerging in the State Level scene, as Elsa Neubauer (Brewster) follows up her win at Somers with a win out at Ocean State. Her time would have placed her 11th in the Championship Section, and maybe even faster with closer competition. Hear from both athletes below.
