Beginning September 15th, you too can get yourself a little piece of the NYC Marathon action. New Balance, the new apparel sponsor for the NYC Marathon, unveiled yesterday it's new NYC Collection to commemorate the event. The collection will bring with it 27 different branded items. The New York City Marathon is billed as the largest in the world. In addition, the 2017 edition will feature the final marathon of Meb Keflezighi. It will serve as his 26th running of the event, one for every mile of the event. In addition, both male (Ghirmay Ghebreslassie) and female (Mary Keitany) defending champions will headline the professional field. The race will play out on November 5th of this year.
New Balance has signed a 10-year partnership with the New York City Marathon, taking over for Asics, which previously sponsored the event for the past 25 years. New Balance also sponsors the Rome and Rotterdam Marathons, as well as the Falmouth Road Race. The marathon is run by the New York Road Runners, a non-profit operating in the Big Apple for the past 59 years.
