Jamal Walton Earns Silver In 400m For Cayman Islands At CARIFTA Games

Jamal Walton came around the last corner with a shot to win in the boys U20 division of the 400m at the FLOW CARIFTA Games on Saturday in Curacao.

But the Cayman Islands sprinter, who finished second last year, settled for silver in a time of 46.46.

"The race went pretty well, I got out as usual," Walton told Flrunners.com. "I had to push way more harder because of the wind, so I kinda ran out of gas in the last 100 meters, but it's a blessing for me holding on the second place medal."

Walton earned his fourth straight medal in the event after performances in 2016 (2nd), 2015 (4th) and 2014 (3rd).

Walton will come back in the 200m dash preliminaries Sunday at 11:40 AM.
