State of the Action: It was a group of six athletes who would do the bulk of the leading for much of the race. The first 1600m was dictated by Patrick Perry, who brought the field through in 4:41.69. There, Ryan Gallagher looked to follow up a great State Qualifier with a strong second half.. But the pack hadn't broken up yet.
