State of the Action: An intriguing race has been set up here. Although New York currently has two separate 600m National Record Holders in the HS Ranks this year, neither of them will be contesting the event. With their absence, the title fight gets that much closer, putting the race as a toss-up between four swift athletes. Paige Keefer is your top seed, running that mark two months ago. Since then, she's been an integral part of the West Babylon 4x400m relay, also the top seed in the state. Brooke Nohilly has run her best one month later than Keefer, but still some time before her qualifier. Both girls have been clocking right around 1:35's more lately, which puts them quite even with the pair from the Federation. PSAL Champ Paris Peoples will be looking for her first state title, and has been steadily improving all year. Her best comes from a week ago, at City Champs.
