State of the Action: Until the Section 1 State Qualifier, there was only one athlete in the entirety of the State who had broken 4:20. Stevie Schulz had done so mid-season, but had a rough go of illness at the State Qualifer. He made the State Meet with a lean at the line, but it wasn't the same 4:18 as earlier in the season. Now, Schulz has some company in the seeds. Matt Politis led Section 1 through a big jump in the rankings, with Greg Fusco and Charlie Stewart coming with him. Also up top is Aidan Ryan, whose unconverted Mile time from Millrose puts him squarely in the mix. With 5 guys under 4:20, the winning time from the year before, we have a real race on our hands. Not to mention Kevin Moshier himself, the defending State Champion from Cornell, last year. | |||||
