2016 New York Federation Championships Preview

Girls Team Race

Breakdown: There is no question that the Federation Championships have been Saratoga's game for almost the meet's entirety.  Since 1989, they've won twenty-two of the last twenty-seven Federation Titles.  However, in 2016, things might get a little dicey.  North Rockland looked very strong at the State Meet, taking down Saratoga convincingly in the Class A race, as well as the merge.  However, Saratoga didn't run their #2, Peyton Engborg.  Add her into the merge below, and you are looking at North Rockland's advantage diminished to only a 10-point lead.  While North Rockland has the home-field advantage, Saratoga has the Title advantage.  This one could get close.

The pair shouldn't forget the teams behind them, either.  Shenendehowa had a rebound race at States, where their Top 2 were consistent with their Sectional performances, while their next two saw a decline.  If they are back in form, we could see this turn into a three way battle.  Niskayuna will see a similar effect, as their marks below are from Sectionals.  if they can maintain, they could challenge for a Top 3 finish.
